We use Sorghum because it is a whole grain, gluten-free and high in antioxidants. Sorghum is also rich in B1, niacin, iron, zinc, dietary fiber and B2. Using sorghum in pet food also boosts smoother blood sugar behavior in dogs. Oats are good for dogs because it has anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties. Oats also have a calming effect on the nervous system so they are a good addition to the diet of anxious dogs. Oats are a warming grain that help strengthen the spleen, pancreas and immune systems as well as the heart. While there’s no definitive scientific data on using CBD to treat dogs, there’s anecdotal evidence from dog owners suggesting it can treat pain, especially neuropathic pain, as well as helping to control seizures. CBD use with dogs is new. Limited studies bring up more questions than answers. However, there are some basic administering guidelines you can follow when using CBD products on your dog. It is recommended to ask your veterinarian about dosing for your dog’s condition. CBD dosing is based on milligrams per pound of the dog’s body weight. If your dog has never had CBD start with 0.05mg per lb, twice a day. Mild dose 0.125mg per lb, twice a day, Moderate dose 0.25mg per lb, twice a day, High Dose 0.5mg per lb twice a day. Make sure you treat it like any other supplement and store it out of reach of children and pets.
